We are releasing an acoustic version and video of a song called ‘English Estate’ today. It is from the same batch of lyrics as ‘An Assualt’, a track we released on ‘What’s your Tonic?’

Two experiences led me to write the lyrics:  

Firstly from my University town in the North East of England. I had an awesome time there, but at that time I encountered a level of poverty, deprivation and violence in some districts that I never knew existed.  

Secondly in the last two years I had the opportunity to work for a school that supports pupils excluded from schools. I worked for several periods teaching decorating to some of these lads. I absolutely loved it. But I learnt what everyday family life is like for some of them.  
When we looked at the lyric yesterday we decided to film the song as some of it reflects on the recent troubles.
